Problem
Concertgoers currently face a frustrating ticketing experience marked by inflated prices, bot interference, and long wait times. Monopolistic practices in the live music industry have resulted in hidden fees, a lack of transparency, and ultimately, disconnected fan communities. Furthermore, existing ticketing platforms fail to appropriately reward frequent concertgoers and loyal fans.
Solution
Band n' Bands is an application designed to simplify the concert ticketing process by offering transparent pricing, secure checkout, and zero hidden fees. To prioritize genuine supporters, the platform partners with streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music to give top listeners priority access to presales. To foster real-world community, Band n' Bands bypasses digital-only entry by mailing a physical ticket and a wristband to users; they are then added to a group chat based on a poll to facilitate safe, in-person meetups at their events.
Challenges
A significant challenge was overcoming the persistent industry issue of bots and scalpers snatching up tickets, which the platform addresses by implementing secure two-factor authentication and unique, non-shareable presale codes. Additionally, the team had to bridge the digital and physical divide by creating an extensive, cohesive service design that integrated the mobile application with physical packaging, wristbands, merchandise, and scaled venue meetup signage for large locations like Hard Rock Stadium.
Impact
The project successfully established a comprehensive brand and service ecosystem dedicated to empowering music fans. By combining cutting-edge dual-authentication technology with physical community touchpoints, Band n' Bands eliminates bots, ensures fair ticket access, and builds a connected community where fans can authentically experience live music
